Sandra Ribera Speed (Chair) started Ribera Law Firm in 2011. Since the firm’s inception, she has had the honor and privilege of representing Katherine Jackson, the mother of Michael Jackson, in a variety of matters. In 2012, she joined the blockbuster legal team headed by the renowned personal injury firm, Panish, Shea, and Boyle, to represent Mrs. Jackson and Michael Jackson’s children in the wrongful death action against concertpromoter AEG Live. Which, ultimately AEG Live was found responsible for hiring the doctor that was convicted of causing Michael Jackson’s death. Sandra has also been asked to co-counsel with the renowned San Francisco-based civil rights and employment law firm, the Law Offices of Mayor Joseph L. Alioto and Angela Alioto. She has been dedicated to the zealous representation of her clients’ claims arising out of unlawful treatment by an employer involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and/or wrongful discharge. She is on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, and a member of the Edward J. McFetridge American Inn of Court.
Sophia Achermann is a personal injury attorney representing injured plaintiffs throughout the state of California. Before opening FIORE ACHERMANN, A Law Corporation in January 2019, she was a trial lawyer at Mary Alexander & Associates, P.C. for 10 years. Highlights from her practice include a $1.15 Billion judgment against three lead paint manufacturers in People of the State of California v. Atlantic Ritchfield Co., et al. in Santa Clara Superior Court. In 2014, she was honored as Trial Lawyer of the Year award by Public Justice Foundation. Andje M. Medina is a partner and trial attorney at Altair Law in San Francisco. Her practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury cases. Audrey Siegel is a personal injury trial attorney at The Cartwright Law Firm, specializing in complex motor vehicle accidents, product liability, and premises liability claims for inadequate security. She is an active member of the San Francisco Bar Association where she currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Barristers Litigation Section and is on the Board of Directors of SFTLA. She received the Outstanding Barristers Award from the San Francisco Bar Association in 2017, was a Finalist for SFTLA Trial Attorney of the Year in 2016 (as a member of a team), and a Finalist for the SFTLA New Lawyers Division Outstanding New Lawyer Award in 2017 and 2018. Kathryn Stebner of Stebner & Associates in San Francisco has been in private practice emphasizing elder abuse and medical malpractice litigation since 1985 and is licensed topractice in both California and Oregon. She is a frequent speaker and author on elder abuse litigation, as well as a law school teacher, mediator and advocate. For the past five years, she has been involved in working with a legislative team on issues related to California long-term care, state policies and laws. She is the author of “Practice and Procedures in Actions against Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly,” a chapter in the CEB Publication California: Elder Law Litigation, An Advocate’s Guide. She received California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform’s Legal Advocacy Award in 2001 for recognition of her efforts on
behalf of California long-term care residents. Ms. Stebner received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco in 1985. She is the Vice President of SFTLA and a Board Member of CAOC.
