Women Representing Women


Tips and tricks for telling your female clients’ stories while taking into account, and hopefully changing, the implicit and explicit biases toward women by judges, mediators, jurors, and the opposing side. Topics will include:

•Overcoming biases in specific cases or damages

•Addressing traditionally female-centric descriptors

•Responding to and educating judges, mediators, jurors, and the opposing side of these implicit and explicit biases to effect change.

Alexandra Hamilton (Chair) is a trial attorney at The Veen Firm, working on the Leary Trial Team. Her practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury cases, including product liability, premises liability, motor vehicle collisions and construction site accidents. Ms. Hamilton has been recognized as one of the top young litigators in California, being named Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association and Top 10 Under 40 in California by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as well as being selected as a Rising Star by Northern California Super Lawyers every year since 2014.”

Andje M. Medina is a Partner at Advocate Trial Group, LLP in San Francisco. Her practice focuses on serious injury and wrongful death cases. In 2017, Ms. Medina was a named a Top 40 Lawyer under 40 in California by the Daily Journal and was a finalist for the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association Trial Lawyer of the Year Award. In 2016, she tried two cases to verdict and is happy to share her post-trial checklist and strategy tips with you.

Annie Wu has represented clients both on the plaintiff and defense side in civil litigation matters involving catastrophic injury, traumatic brain injury, wrongful death and insurance bad faith claims. Ms. Wu is an experienced trial lawyer and handled many cases involving multi-million dollar claims.
