Chair: Lee Harris
Lee Harris (Moderator) is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who helps individuals and small businesses with complex insurance problems. Lee is President-elect of Consumer Attorneys of California and has served as chair of the American Association for Justice, Insurance and Bad Faith Litigation groups. Lee received his undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard and his law degree from the University of San Francisco, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Evidence. He has authored articles and lectured on insurance coverage, jury selection, injury and disability cases, property damage and complex litigation. He was appointed by the State Bar of California to the Commission to revise the Rules of Professional Conduct. Lee received an AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5 rating from Martindale and has been selected as one of California’s Super Lawyers. He is a fellow of the American Bar Association. He has instructed at a number of trial advocacy programs including the Stanford Law School Trial Advocacy Skills Program, Hastings College of Advocacy and the University of San Francisco School of Law Intensive Advocacy Program.
Terrence Coleman has been a partner with Pillsbury & Coleman, LLP, since 1999, specializing in the representation of policyholders in insurance bad faith and insurance coverage matters. Mr. Coleman is a frequent lecturer and author on insurance related topics and serves on many boards, including SFTLA, the St. Thomas More Society of San Francisco, and the St. Isidore School Foundation. In 2003, Mr. Coleman also served as Chair of the Insurance Section of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. That same year, Mr. Coleman was a finalist for “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by SFTLA. Mr. Coleman is “AV” rated by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell organization and was named a Northern California “Super Lawyer” in 2006 and 2007. Also active in politics, Mr. Coleman was the Democratic Party’s nominee in 2006 for the California State Assembly, 15th Assembly District.
Brian Kim is a founding partner of Bolt Keenley Kim LLP. Mr. Kim concentrates his practice on representing individual insurance policyholders in pre-litigation appeals and litigation under the federal Employment Retirement Income and Security Act (ERISA) and under California insurance law, in the areas of disability, health, life and annuity insurance benefits. Mr. Kim received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1996 and his Juris Doctor degree from the Gould School of Law, University of Southern California in 2001, where he served as a Staff Editor on the Southern California Law Review. Mr. Kim was formerly the Chair of the Insurance Section of the American Association for Justice from 2014 to 2015 and formerly a Board Member of the Alameda Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association. He has been named a Northern California “Super Lawyer” in the field of Employee Benefits every year since 2014.
